还在你的床前;

Phillip my son, it has been 18 long months since you have gone, I count the months, weeks and days that your beautiful soul left us.

Your family miss you each and every day, our grief will never leave.

As I write this letter my tears fall like rain, as they do each and every day, your mother and I walk around in shock and denial, this is now normal for us. Our love for you is eternal.

Your death has left us with a wound that will never heal.

Your mother regularly recalls how she would listen to you practising your guitar when you were in your bedroom, the gentle strumming and songs you would play were very soothing and relaxing to her. This is something she missed when you were teaching English in China and will miss forever.

Phillip, I know how much you loved and enjoyed playing your guitars.

Your electric and acoustic guitars have pride of place in your bedroom on their stands along with all of the music books you owned.

Phil, I always feel your presence around me, even though you are not there, I hear you talk to me, sometimes guide me, even though you are not there, you visit me often in my dreams when I sleep and talk to me, just as I always visit you in a garden that is now your home.

Mum and I miss the cheeky smile you always had and your quirky sense of humour, no longer can we kiss you or feel your warmth as we used to hold you in our arms.

As I walk around the home that you grew up in, I look lovingly at all of the pictures we have of you, our constant reminder of our beautiful son and brother, gone at such a young age.

Phil, I carry this poem about you with me day and night.

Phillip, at only 27 years old

You truly had a heart of gold

I know I’ll have to wait a while

Until I see your beautiful smile.

Phillip, part of you still lives on in the 5 organ recipients that have received the most precious gifts you could ever give. You will never ever be gone from our memories, or the memories of the people you have given new life and hope to.

The 5 organ recipients are members of our family now, and I know that they love you and want to celebrate your life almost as much as we do, they have formed a wonderful musical group called “One Man’s Band” in your honour and as a tribute to you, your generosity and your love of music and playing the guitar.

We feel assured that this band will be very happy and find as much joy and pleasure in playing and performing music as you always did.

Our family sincerely hope that the One Man’s Band members, will all live a long, healthy and happy life.

Phillip, all of our love to you my Prince, from Mum, Dad, your brother Mitchell and sister Miranda.
